Intervention areas
Under GREAT 1, the program supported local communities investing in product and service development, with a focus on community-based tourism development. It also supported the upskilling of ethnic minority women to address barriers and negative perceptions on women’s roles in tourism and to better prepare them for employment and business opportunities in the sector. GREAT 2 builds on this experience, focusing on the better integration of community tourism stakeholders, particularly ethnic minority women, within the wider tourism system. In particular, it prioritises two key areas of intervention:
